About Socola Chocolatier

“Chocolate Made in San Francisco. Inspired by Vietnam. Crafted With Heart.”
Socola Chocolatier is where Vietnamese heritage meets San Francisco creativity. Founded by sisters Wendy and Susan Lieu, our mission has always been simple: to craft chocolates that honor our family’s story, celebrate bold flavors, and make people smile.
We grew up surrounded by the aromas, colors, and humor of Vietnamese culture—and we brought all of it into our chocolate kitchen. From Little Saigon–inspired truffles to vibrant seasonal collections, we create confections that blend tradition with curiosity, craft with playfulness, and deep roots with a modern Bay Area sensibility.
Today, you’ll find Socola in the heart of SoMa and at San Francisco International Airport, where travelers bring our chocolates home as “a little taste of SF with soul.” And every box we make reflects what matters most to us: cultural storytelling, small-batch craftsmanship, and a genuine connection with our community.
Socola is woman-of-color-owned, fiercely local, and proudly part of the creative fabric of San Francisco. When you open a box, you’re tasting not just chocolate—but a family narrative, a celebration of the city we love, and a joyful reminder that flavor is one of the most beautiful ways to tell a story.
Far-reaching — and also community-centered
Socola has been featured in Forbes, NBC News, the San Francisco Chronicle, Zagat, and has a client list that includes Google, Tiffany, Sephora, and American Express.
Wendy has been honored with the National Association of Women Business Owners Aspire Award, PAAWBAC Monarch Leadership Award, the Renaissance Entrepreneur of the Year, and was named a Center for Asian American Media Rising Star. She is a graduate of UC Davis, Tante Marie Pastry School and the Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center.
Her community service includes active involvement in the East Cut Community Benefit District, mentoring high school students through Enterprise for Youth internships, teaching other small business owners at Renaissance, fundraising and giving support to the Catalyst Foundation and many other AAPI organizations.
